FBC: Firebreak – A Paranatural Co-op Shooter from the World of Control

If you loved Control for its eerie vibes, levitating enemies, and wild sci-fi mysteries, you’ll want to keep an eye on FBC: Firebreak—Remedy Entertainment’s latest dive into the paranatural.

Just revealed with a fresh gameplay trailer, FBC: Firebreak is a 3-player co-op FPS set in the Control universe. It’s not a direct sequel, but a standalone experience that throws you into the boots of Firebreak agents—essentially the FBC’s crisis response team.

Your job? Contain some seriously messed-up anomalies inside the ever-shifting Oldest House.

What makes Firebreak stand out is the blend of paranormal chaos and tight team play. The game’s missions (called Jobs) are handcrafted, session-based scenarios that escalate in difficulty as you progress through zones.

The trailer shows off one such job called “Paper Chase,” where rogue sticky notes turn into a full-blown supernatural outbreak. Yup—post-it notes. That’s the Control energy we all love.

Expect combat that feels punchy and reactive, with lots of floating enemies, reality-bending hazards, and visual weirdness all around.

The environments look absolutely wild—shifting walls, glitching corridors, and explosive physics.

You won’t be stuck with one fixed playstyle. The game gives you Crisis Kits—loadouts with grenades, tools, support items, and some paranatural augments that let you shape your gameplay.

Whether you’re more of a support player or damage dealer, there’s room to experiment and strategize with your squad.

And for those tired of daily check-ins and FOMO-based content: no battle passes. No time-gated events. Firebreak is being built for jump-in-and-play sessions, with crossplay across PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.

FBC: Firebreak is set to launch Summer 2025, and the best part? It’ll be available Day One on:

  • PC Game Pass

  • Game Pass Ultimate

  • PlayStation Plus (Extra & Premium)

  • Steam and Epic Games Store

So if you’ve got any of those, you’re good to go.

It’s honestly refreshing to see Remedy take the Control universe in a more social, action-heavy direction without losing the weird, surreal magic that made the original game so special.

If you’re into co-op shooters with an unpredictable twist, FBC: Firebreak might just be your next obsession.

Until then, keep your sticky notes in check—they might be watching.
