Star Wars Outlaws Expands With ‘A Pirate’s Fortune’ DLC — And It’s Heading to Switch 2!

Big news for Star Wars fans, Ubisoft followers, and future Nintendo Switch 2 owners! There’s a double treat lined up for us — one in the form of a thrilling new DLC for Star Wars: Outlaws, and the other, a major console debut. Let’s dive in.

A New Adventure Awaits: A Pirate’s Fortune DLC

Coming this May 15, Star Wars: Outlaws is getting its very first story DLC titled A Pirate’s Fortune. Developed by Massive Entertainment, this expansion promises to take players on a mysterious, treasure-hunting journey across the galaxy.

Players will once again step into the shoes of Kay Vess, accompanied by her trusty alien companion Nix, as they explore the intriguing Khepi system

But this time, they’ll be teaming up with none other than the legendary space pirate Hondo Ohnaka. If you’re a long-time Star Wars: The Clone Wars fan, you’ll instantly recognize Hondo’s sharp wit and lovable rogue personality.

In the game’s timeline, Hondo is still living the dangerous life of a thief and mercenary, long before his days working with the Rebellion.

In this DLC, you’ll infiltrate the mysterious Khepi Tomb, face off against the fearsome Stinger Tash and her Rokana Raiders, and unearth hidden secrets and treasures that the galaxy has long forgotten.

Along the way, you’ll also run into the Miyuki Trade League — a new group offering risky smuggling jobs with rewards for those brave enough to take them.

If you’re a season pass holder, good news — you’ll be able to download A Pirate’s Fortune for free when it launches. If not, the DLC will be available for $14.99 (in credits) across all current platforms.

As a bonus, alongside the paid DLC, Ubisoft is dropping a free update featuring items inspired by Star Wars: Skeleton Crew. So whether you’re grabbing the DLC or not, there’s something fresh for everyone.

Why Hondo Ohnaka Is a Big Deal

For those new to the name, Hondo Ohnaka is a fan-favorite Star Wars character, first introduced in the animated Star Wars: The Clone Wars series.

Known for his humorous one-liners, unpredictable alliances, and endless charm, Hondo has always walked the fine line between villain and hero.

Having him featured in A Pirate’s Fortune is a clever move by Ubisoft, offering longtime fans a chance to share an adventure with one of the galaxy’s most entertaining pirates.

It also hints at what might be coming next — could we see more iconic characters from the Star Wars universe making appearances in future DLC? It certainly feels like LucasArts and Massive have a few surprises up their sleeves.

Star Wars Outlaws Is Coming to Nintendo Switch 2!

If that wasn’t exciting enough, Ubisoft has confirmed that Star Wars: Outlaws is heading to the Nintendo Switch 2 on September 4, 2025

This is especially significant because it’s the first Ubisoft title officially announced for the upcoming Nintendo console.

While details about the Switch 2 itself are still under wraps, this move hints at big things for Nintendo’s next-gen platform.

Ubisoft’s decision to bring a current-gen, visually demanding game like Outlaws to the Switch 2 suggests that Nintendo’s new console will be more than capable of handling modern AAA titles.

It also raises interesting possibilities — will other Ubisoft favorites like Assassin’s Creed Shadows or Rainbow Six Siege X follow? Given Ubisoft’s longstanding relationship with Nintendo, chances are high.

For Star Wars fans, this is a golden era. Not only are we getting a brand-new galactic adventure with beloved characters like Hondo, but it’s also exciting to see major Star Wars titles landing on Nintendo platforms once again.

Ubisoft fans should also be watching closely. The Switch 2’s announcement of Star Wars: Outlaws could signal a future where more Ubisoft games arrive on the console — something that wasn’t always possible with the original Switch’s hardware limitations.

And for curious Switch 2 fans, this is one more reason to be excited. If a game like Outlaws is running on the system, the future of handheld-console hybrid gaming is looking bright.
