The chainsaws are revving once again. Microsoft has officially announced Gears of War: Reloaded — a glorious remaster of the iconic 2006 third-person shooter that kicked off one of Xbox’s most legendary franchises. 

And here’s the real kicker: for the first time ever, Gears of War is making its way to PlayStation 5. 

Yes, you read that right — the gritty, brutal war against the Locust Horde is now open to an even bigger audience.

Launching on August 26, 2025, this reimagined version of the original Gears is being billed as the definitive way to experience where it all began. Whether you’re a long-time fan who shredded through waves of Locusts on Xbox 360, or a newcomer about to rev up your first Lancer — Gears of War: Reloaded is shaping up to be something special.

A Visual and Performance Overhaul Worthy of 2025

This isn’t just a basic polish job. Gears of War: Reloaded boasts a full suite of technical upgrades that truly bring the gritty world of Sera to life. We’re talking 4K resolution, 60 FPS in Campaign, and up to 120 FPS in Multiplayer. 

The textures have been completely remastered in 4K, shadows and reflections are sharper, and post-processing effects have been massively enhanced. Expect Dolby Vision, HDR, and 7.1.4 Dolby Atmos to make this the most immersive version yet.

And here’s the cherry on top: no loading screens during the Campaign. That’s right — seamless transitions all the way through. It’s a slick, modern experience that respects your time while hitting all the nostalgia notes.

Cross-Play, Cross-Progression, and Co-Op Goodness

Gears of War: Reloaded will include all previously released DLC, including the bonus Campaign act, every multiplayer map, classic modes, and cosmetics — all bundled into the base game. No extra purchases, no sneaky microtransactions.
